<font face="verdana" color="black"> It's no secret that when Kinect Launches an Xbox 360 update will launch alongside it. However, hackers have had a look at a beta menu of Microsoft's. It appears that they've added a function that will allow them to view the current software version of Xbox's. This is potentially disastrous news for JTAGgers since they will use custom firmware. This will be detected and they will be promptly banned. It's an anti-piracy measure that from Microsoft's point of view, would be perfect.

What are your opinions of this? Personally, I think jtaggers will find a way round and I'm sure you can find a way to keep the old dashboard.

Good Idea to add it but JTAGr's will get around it in in a day IMO

Well, I think it's time for people to buy a PS3. Most people only paid for online just hack there games. But someone will figure out how to get around it.

Anyone agree?

I woulda thought they can only track it if your online / connected to the internet ?

So surely its not gonna be TOO much different from now, in the fact that if you connect to live you get banned in a few hours

It will only be tracked if your online. And Jtags being online are banned withing 4 hours.
I don't think they'll be able to track the firmware so quick. So I still doubt they can get past jtags.

We'll have to see what happens and if they stick to what they say. Anyone else remember 5 months ago when they announced during a big update that they were going to do scans for modded gamer scores and anyone who was modding in games. The consequence would be a temp. ban, gamer score reset, and put in the gaming section 'Cheater'. This never happened during nor after the scan...
