This drive will allow infinite storage space for your console (as long as you've got the other space somewhere else). You connect a USB to your Playstation or Xbox and you can save information on your computer via the USB or to an external storage device, again by the USB. Perhaps the most exciting thing about this device is that it allows you to access your computer from your PS3/Xbox. While the degree of this access is unknown, this sounds like it could be a possible SATA Cable replacement.
To connect to your PC from your Console, the USB drive uses Wi-Fi on a separate wireless network. Perhaps you're thinking 'but if I'm on a special wireless network then how am I going to browse the web and/or play online at the same time?': the USB will allow you to connect to two different Wi-Fi networks on each system, allowing you to play online, access the web and simultaneously stream data between both your console and your PC. Infinitec tell us that you will also be able to stream content from your PC to play on your Console's connected TV and/or sound system. It's possible that these features are available to use the other way round as well (i.e. Stream your Console's audio to your PC and play it through your PC's speakers. In any case, this certainly is an exciting innovation and this USB is available for preorder from Infinitec's site for $130.
