Being released this fall, Microsoft plan to release a new re-designed Xbox 360 wireless controller that also features a transforming d-pad along with different colour buttons.

Acknowledging the trouble many players have had with the current d-pad, Microsoft's engineers have upgraded the controller's d-pad to go "from a plus to a disc with the twist of the wrist," according toLarry "Major Nelson" Hryb.

The new d-pad provides “Ultimate accuracy and control for both directional and sweeping movements.”

So fail on them.

The DPAD on the ps3 controllers is actually connected, but inside. It seems separate, but the 4 arrows are connected to one base. I guess it's just easier because they have separate cutouts for them.

And what the **** is he talking about the D-pad? from what he does theres no goddamn diffrence, If there was, It took them 5 years to make... twisty dpad and gray buttons? Thats like the ****'in wii.

Really what a joke. This is the dumbest thing microsoft has ever done. They are doing this just to make more money.
