Only a few days into the release of the heavily awaited Call of Duty: Black Ops, developer Treyarch seems to be having various issues regarding the game's servers. There have been reports worldwide claiming that the multiplayer server for the game is down. In some areas, servers have been down for over 3 hours.

Earlier on, there have already been many reports concerning connectivity issues with the game altogether, even when the servers are functioning.

Although Treyarch will undoubtedly make quite a bit of money off of this title, they will likely face much criticism given the circumstances. Gamers around the world have been awaiting this title, and now, on their first weekend where they can focus and enjoy the game, the servers are barely, if at all, functioning.

I'll update this post if any more news concerning this issue comes in.

FFS theres nothing the matter with the game, either your isp is blocking connections, or You are just to retarded to get along with a bit of lag.


If its only you thats laggy then its your connection!

MW2's servers were down for a whole day when it came out.

It seems they weren't fully prepared, just as Infinity Ward last year.

Servers aren't the main problem for me, its the fact uses so much RAM thats why even single player lags. When i play on PC, the game can use up to 90% of CPU

I ALWAYS 2 bar on BO but I go on MW2 and I have 3 bars?

Put the settings to local only.

Tried that but I STILL only get two bars. Already gave up on the game a few days ago.

Server fixes coming.

Also to all you IW fan boys - Activision are in charge of the servers. Just like MW2 so no need to bash Treyarch about it. Plus they were even worse with MW2. I recall the servers being down for almost a week. Compared to 3 hours, I don't mind.

Also if you've looked at the fixes they're bringing in, in the new patch, you'll realise in that one patch it fixes everything wrong with the game and fixes so much more than MW2 managed to.

I'm not a fan boy of Treyarch, nor do I hate IW but I dislike them after MW2 which was a load of hacking, lagging, boring, overpowered, unbalanced piece of shit.

Microsoft and sony are in charge of the servers. Microsoft runs their own servers and sony has a third party in charge of their servers.
Edit: just found out activision owns the third party company demonware who runs the ps3 servers.
