"I don't think there's going to be an Assassin's Creed in 2011. I think we're going to let it breathe a bit and really focus on bringing something new and exciting for the next time around." said Ubisoft associate producer Jean-Francois Boivin in July 2010, before he was overridden.

All of us gamers know that gaming companies aren't making games so that they can see our smiles. They do it to produce revenue. Boivin, after making that statement, acknowledged that he very well may be overridden: business can come back and override everything I say because at the end of the day it's about selling games."

The more copies a game sells, the more likely it is a follow-up game will be produced. According to Geoffroy Sardin, when sharing the news with MCV, said Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood has sold 1 million copies in its first week. He also added that another 'big' Assassin's Creed title will launch in 2011. "Yes, Yves [Guillemot, Ubisoft CEO] mentioned it last week in our financials – and more details will be forthcoming," Sardin said. "But what I can say is that next year we will have another big Assassin's Creed game."

Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood launched a year after Assassins's Creed II, adding and removing some features of the previous titles. These changes won gamers and critics over, especially with the addition of a multiplayer mode. Ubisoft intends to provide players of Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood with downloadable content, starting in December, when a new multiplayer map and game mode will be available to plays for free.

Given the success of Brotherhood's multiplayer, it's likely that we haven't seen its last appearance in the series. Whether it will be the same has yet to be determined, but it's likely that we'll learn more within the coming months, granted 2011 is right around the corner. Will Ubisoft do what too many game developers have in the past, putting quantity before quality? Thus far, it seems Ubisoft has not made that mistake, but there's no saying they won't make it this time.

I'll keep my eyes open for more information concerning this release.

I just hope the next series focuses on Ezio's father, where the story mode is about his father's life as an assassin.

That's where I think the story is going.

If you saw the ending to Assassin's Creed 2, it seems like it's foreshadowing that you'll play as Desmond in the real world, with all of Altair's & Ezio's abilities.

yeah, im not sure where you are in the game and i dont really think this is a spoiler for anybody that hasnt finished story but you do get to play as desmond for abit at the end and with alot of ezio's abilities and i do enjoy it but im not sure how they could make it into a full game of just desmond?

If they continue to go by the story, then it'll work.

If I recall correctly, there is supposed to be some type of apocalypse happening in the real world. (This is totally just speculation), but I thought that since they were able to find Ezio's hidden blade in the real world, they'll go and search for the rest of Ezio's items too.

The problem is, you still don't have all of Ezio's abilities (I said it before, but jump-climbing is still notoriously absent). Also, I'd like to see him pick up some items from still-to-come assassins, too. If there's a game in Japan, perhaps Desmond finds a katana in Osaka. Or in Moscow, Desmond comes across a pistol or something. Remember, Ezio is just one in a line of assassins.

Maybe he'll learn it later on? (AC: 4)

Yeah, I remember there being many other assassins (like the ones in the vault that had the Armor of Altair).

Oh and a game set in Japan/Moscow would be pretty cool. :y:

I would like to play as Desmond for a longer period though it would be stupid of him to use Assassin techniques against guys with guns.

AC2 spoiler alert

At the end, they sent security with batons after Desmond which was stupid as **** as they could have easily used stun guns and whatnot to capture him.

Well, the idea is that Desmond is reliving the memories of his ancestors who were also master assassins. Between Altair and Ezio there could very well have been other assassins, but they weren't important enough to be relived. However, in between the 1500s and 2012 there had to be others.

I think a Russian assassin is more likely than a Japanese one for the pure reason that it's not logical. Unless Desmond's ancestry took a major migration to the far east, it's plausible that his line stayed in Europe for a while longer.
