"I don't think there's going to be an Assassin's Creed in 2011. I think we're going to let it breathe a bit and really focus on bringing something new and exciting for the next time around." said Ubisoft associate producer Jean-Francois Boivin in July 2010, before he was overridden.

All of us gamers know that gaming companies aren't making games so that they can see our smiles. They do it to produce revenue. Boivin, after making that statement, acknowledged that he very well may be overridden: business can come back and override everything I say because at the end of the day it's about selling games."

The more copies a game sells, the more likely it is a follow-up game will be produced. According to Geoffroy Sardin, when sharing the news with MCV, said Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood has sold 1 million copies in its first week. He also added that another 'big' Assassin's Creed title will launch in 2011. "Yes, Yves [Guillemot, Ubisoft CEO] mentioned it last week in our financials – and more details will be forthcoming," Sardin said. "But what I can say is that next year we will have another big Assassin's Creed game."

Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood launched a year after Assassins's Creed II, adding and removing some features of the previous titles. These changes won gamers and critics over, especially with the addition of a multiplayer mode. Ubisoft intends to provide players of Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood with downloadable content, starting in December, when a new multiplayer map and game mode will be available to plays for free.

Given the success of Brotherhood's multiplayer, it's likely that we haven't seen its last appearance in the series. Whether it will be the same has yet to be determined, but it's likely that we'll learn more within the coming months, granted 2011 is right around the corner. Will Ubisoft do what too many game developers have in the past, putting quantity before quality? Thus far, it seems Ubisoft has not made that mistake, but there's no saying they won't make it this time.

I'll keep my eyes open for more information concerning this release.

I don't know about you guys, but I would bet it just for the sheer joy of jumping of a roof and stabbing a guy in the brain.

I'll be lookin' forward to it!

Assassin's Creed I - Good game for being one of the first Playstation 3 Games. But every mission is repetitive.

Assassin's Creed II - Loved this game. Was/still is one of my favorite games of all time.

Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood - Still working on it, loving the story-line right now, enjoying it very much.

It would be kind of fun if it was set in feudal japan... and the assassins were ninjas... or is that too much of a video game cliche haha?
