Well it seems Geohot has done it again. The hacker mostly known for cracking the iPhone now says he's found the keys to PlayStation 3.
What's the difference between Geohot's work and Fail0verflow's you ask? Well while Fail0verflow is in process of releasing tools to allow people to install Linux on their system, Geohot just went ahead and published the PS3's "root key".

The root key is a signature of sorts, that lets the PS3 know that the program that's about to run on the console is a legitimate piece of software. If it's now out there, then once people start messing around with it, they'll be able to whip up anything - be that custom software or pirated games - and trick the console into thinking it's OK to load.
Mean time Fail0verflow have released some "PS3 development tools" as they have promised.

I don't think it's going to be that bad unless it's so easy that noobs who don't even know what blue ray is can do it. If that's the case then ps3 is screwed
Bit shocked because if i recall......am giving up hacking the PS3
Guess not.....unless this is older work
Still big step forward for it to be public
Hope it does not ruin PSN , people use it to make aimbots and stuff.
Would be a shame
Hope sony blocks it use in online games or finds a way to prevent too much damage.
At this time it too far so it just damage control for sony.
Hope sony understands the following you given users a stick it failed , give more stick and something to get them away from this. What am saying cross game chat etc
I doubt sony going to do this because japan bit off when it comes to PSN. Unsure what PSN should be and it shows......
Oh well look forward to the stuff people make.
And now Fail0verflow have gone into nerd rage at the fact they spent like ages indoor away from other people having no life developing tools and shit while Geohot comes along, and just releases all Fail0verflow's hardwork. Now that is quite funny. If only someone could have videoed their nerd rage.
Even funnier than that my friend. Fail0verflow is a group of like 5 faggots whereas geohot is a true OG coming in and hacking whatever he pleases.
