It is well known that Microsoft was recently looking for beta testers for a new disc format. However, a hacker is saying he knows the details to what's in store.

MS will introduce xgd3 – this will add more ap checks, cvi (content integrity) checks, increase the disc size and adds a new layer for protection issues – all in the 20500 sdk! bring it on!

The so called hacker is saying that Microsoft will come out with a new DVD model, known at the XG3D. Allowing the said, above.

None of this is confirmed, just rumored. What are your thoughts on this?

Xbox won't ever get Blu Ray so don't get your hopes up kiddies

This won't change much, it will still take 10 discs a game and just throwing this out there: If the xbox discs could hold more data then there could of been gore in Black Ops (not like anyone cares about that game these days) but just saying, due to the small amount of space developers have to work with means that all systems must have it to be equal and is also why a lot of games are made on the xbox because they just transfer it to PS3 with no changes besides controls which is a waste of the large amount of space Blu Rays can hold.

Im not a fanboy, Im just stating facts :black:

Xbox discs are the size of Dual-Layer DVD's - 8.5GB

PS3 discs can be either a Single-Layer Blu-Ray (25GB) or a Dual-Layer Blu-Ray (50GB)

Yeah they can only hold around 7gb, how many can Blu-Ray hold? Isn't it somewhere around 50gb? Not sure...that's just what I think I remembered hearing.

Yeah, they can hold 50 at the most
