On May 10th, Microsoft stated that they had bought Skype for an insane $8.5 billion. The main question is, what's Microsoft going to do with Skype? Many are hoping for a it to be added to the Xbox 360, but nothing is certain yet. On the other hand, we've been hearing rumors of Sony updating their PS3 browser to Google Chrome. The video below stated that Google and Sony are going to be collaborating on the next PlayStation console.

I object.
Microsoft will ruin Skype, since they'll make a bunch of updates. I like Skype the way it is, but they'll change everything for sure, make it laggy, try to add stuff, incorporate it with your Live account.

FML.

when a company spends 8.5 billion on acquiring skype, they dont give the service for free. microsoft is the definition of greed. so expect a charge, and expect it to fail even harder than it already does...and itll only get integrated into Xbox live, and thatll fail...wow..an 8 billion dollar fail investment....

I totally disagree with the guy above, how is skype a fail, its a major success, if it wernt how come it sold for 8.5BILLION??

He wasn't saying Skype was a fail, he was saying that it would be under Microsoft & XBL, which unfortunately I agree with.

It's a fantastic service but w/ Microsoft at the helm it's only a matter of time until it starts getting messed with and essentially ruined, similar to when Google bought YouTube.

Ohhh okay, sorry for miss reading it, Microsoft are good but they will probably ruin it, why would they need skype?? they have XBL chat.
