(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); I've been Minecraft for a while and a few days ago I started to freeze with a black screen after 5-ish minutes. Naturally, I google'd it and deleted the minecraft folder to redownload which worked for that day.
Next day, black screens again.
I've tried re-deleting (about 50 times :FU the folder, running a virus scan, running it with more memory allocated, running it from browser, making sure I'm not overheating, making sure there's no problems like mods, defragmenting, deleting some memory-hogging stuff and a few more things. Nothings worked and everything seems fine in-game until a sudden black screen.

So I turn to you and ask.. Help? $2 and +1 internets to the person that can help me fix this incredibly annoying problem

You just reminded me that when I re-installed Java I got that "This program may not have installed properly.." screen. So I uninstalled it and tried (After 20 seconds I got a screen full of lines :FU, rebooted and installed Java properly and got no error. If it doesn't blackscreen by 24:00 GMT expect +$2

Edit: Blackscreened at :57 but it was a LOT longer than I'd usually be able to go. Gonna try the memory allocation and find a way to cool down the laptop. Whats your paypal?

system restore to an earlier date. That should fix most problems.

If it started in 1.6.4 it is because 1.6.4 is currently BUG HEAVEN. Not even worth playing the game till they fix that shit.

Come to think of it, it did start happening the week of 1.6's release. :|

A new update is supposed to be out today. Or fix.

Thank god. I just restored my laptop to factory settings (it's much faster lol) and I'm still blackscreening. The fact that I can run other games perfectly also tells me it's not me :I

Still need help since I'm pretty much back to square one. Re-installing Java and using 1.5 only let me play for 10-ish minutes longer. sucks4me
