Post: Halp? ($2 Reward)

(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); I've been Minecraft for a while and a few days ago I started to freeze with a black screen after 5-ish minutes. Naturally, I google'd it and deleted the minecraft folder to redownload which worked for that day.
Next day, black screens again.
I've tried re-deleting (about 50 times :FUSmile the folder, running a virus scan, running it with more memory allocated, running it from browser, making sure I'm not overheating, making sure there's no problems like mods, defragmenting, deleting some memory-hogging stuff and a few more things. Nothings worked and everything seems fine in-game until a sudden black screen.

So I turn to you and ask.. Help? $2 and +1 internets to the person that can help me fix this incredibly annoying problem

Try running minecraft of the browser and logging in from there. Same thing used to happen to me and that solution worked.

Also blackscreens.

I'm thinking since Java makes my fan go crazy it might be dust in it. Gonna try a cooling pad and compressed air

Try updating your video card drivers or changing render distance and things that would stop you from lagging. Because that's essentially what it is. Lag causing blackscreen.

My video card is already fully updated and the first thing I do is turn down the settings to be fast

After a few sprays of canned air my laptops average temp has gone from 55-60 to 45ish and Minecraft takes a lot longer to blackscreen but it still happens. Anyone know how to restore a Dell Vista to factory settings without the CD or recovering to an earlier point? Minecraft would prolly run pretty decent on that if it wasn't so clogged with shit

if u want to do a factory restore try this

  1. Turn on the computer.
  2. As the computer starts, press <F8> on the keyboard until the Advanced Boot Options menu appears on the screen.
    Note:
You must press <F8> before the Windows logo appears on the screen. If you press <F8> after the Windows logo appears on the screen, the Advanced Boot Options menu will not appear on the screen. If you do not see the Advanced Boot Options menu, restart the computer, and then repeat this step until you see the menu on the screen.

  3. Press the <Awesome faceown Arrow> on the keyboard to select Repair Your Computer on the Advanced Boot Options menu, and then press <Enter>.
  4. Specify the language settings that you want, and then click Next.
  5. Log in as a user who has administrative credentials, and then click OK.
  6. Click Dell Factory Image Restore.
  7. In the Dell Factory Image Restore window, click Next.
  8. Click to select the Yes, reformat hard drive and restore system software to factory condition check box.
  9. Click Next. The computer is restored to the default factory configuration.
  10. When the restore operation is completed, click Finish to restart the computer.
