Counting down the mere days until the starting of E3, it seems as if some major Microsoft content has been prematurely leaked. Claimed to be announced by the gaming giant is Xbox LIVE Diamond service, which was originally code named ‘Project-Opera’. In short, Diamond is a collaboration of Microsoft's Mediaroom IPTV with Xbox Live itself. All in all, this could allow many possibilities for consumers as it will integrate itself into Avatars, Kinect, and much more. Reported is that Microsoft could incorporate television streaming from numerous content providers (Deals are claimed to be in the working between MS and television providers, in order to settle an agreement before E3).

So what does this mean for gamers?

With this future service, Xbox users will have the ability to surf channels via their console, access numerous Xbox Live social features, receive Ventura music service, and more. For Kinect owners, their peripheral will be a building block for the service as it is claimed to have fully functional support. Briefly noted, Xbox Live users would pay an extra premium to access the extended feature, however, with all that is believed to be offered, this seems to be a small price to pay.

That is why we've baked social directly into the experience with Xbox LIVE – connecting gamers, friends and families across the globe. That is why you'll see Xbox marketed more as an entertainment brand this year. And that is why we're investing so much in Natural User Interface technologies (speech, touch, gestures) to make the entertainment experience that much easier—and more fun."

With this, E3 and its forthcoming seems to be bringing much excitement. As each corporation places all their cards on the table, there are no losers, just thrilled gamers looking to receive the most out of their consoles.
