There will be NO PS4 reveal at the upcoming E3 event. Don't expect it anytime soon, either. Sony is currently working on the NGP; with the PS4 not even to the development phase yet.

Sony is still giving full attention to the PS3. They currently have no estimated date for when to expect the PS4.

Nintendo is looking like it will be the only company to reveal a new console this year.

I wasn't expecting a PS4 announcement at all- the PS3 is supposed to have a much longer lifespan than its predecessors.

I see this from many people, but the PS3 has been out for almost five years now? I still see no difference in the exclusive games, and the hardware can only produce just so much. How is it that you figure it hasn't been fully optimized? What more can be done?

The only thing I see is bigger games, but that doesn't mean that the PS3 can do more.

I don't think Sony aims to make a profit on consoles anyway, they get more sale through their games, their online stuff and franchise, I don't think sony would care about the PS3 only just hitting profits as they more than made up the losses from their games and features (PSN+ etc etc). The Ps4 if it ever gets released i would truly hope would be just a hardware packed upgrade, the PS3 ibm chip is apperently 3fold as powerfull as the 360's processing chip, and rumour has it Sony was/or is working on a processing chip with 10fold the power of the Ps3 coupkle that with masses of RAM and improved wireless adapter for better signal reception (not that the Ps3 one is bad by any means but if it could be improved then may as well), and just make it a beast of a machine for gaming like our Ps3's are now.
