To start off I want to make it clear this is no doubt a rumor. There has been little evidence to confirm any of this. Nonetheless, it has been floating around the net lately that Windows 8 will support the play of Xbox 360 console game disks.

You must login or register to view this content. has sited an unknown source as confirming these rumors to be true. It is said you will simply be bale to place the disk in your computer and then a gaming program will basically emulate the Xbox, allowing you to play the game. It is also said that you will be able to access their Xbox 360 Dashboard and Xbox Live service via their computer.

It is said that to access these features on your computer you will be required to purchase Xbox Live if you have not already. This alone would sky rocket Microsoft's profit as it would encourage more users to purchase their Live services.

Now something I have not found any rumors on is whether you will need to purchase or own a PC with specific hardware installed. It seems to me that you would not be able to run an Xbox 360 disk on most current PCs.

Windows 8 still has no official release date. There are new features being confirmed by Microsoft often so all we can do now is wait to see what is or isn't included from this rumor.

So what do you think? Would being able to play Xbox 360 on your PC be something you would use? Would it encourage you to purchase Xbox live if you haven't already? Would you purchase a new computer if special hardware was required to play your 360 games on PC?

xbox 360 games will still suck and ripping onto your HDD? why not just pirate them instead?
also the graphics wont look as good on PC anyways.
No slump there bro.

seriously are u lot this stupid to think this is true its a complete bullshit story the only way microsoft could do this is get rid of xboxkrnl.exe and replaced it with the Windows 8 kernel,I have no doubt there will be an Xbox Live service built-into Windows 8 that allows users to download non-native Xbox 360 games such as parts of the Games for Windows catalog (which has recently moved to xbox.com) and play online. I just don't think that you'll be able to pop in a Xbox 360 game disc or download native console games and just play them. Sad truth.
serious featured news or just Featured Speculation !!! i could speculate all day keep to the truth cause this is bullshit

To be honest I've seen windows 8 up close demo, they were playing portal 2 on it and it ran like a beast. I take it Microsoft is either trying to get more users to become gamer's or they are trying to expand out of just an operating software. Either way WINDOWS 8 LOOKS PLEASING
