Matros tweeted that an ESL representative was at the event. This comes as good news since ESL is one of the biggest e-sport organizations in the world, and was most likely interested in the E-Sport features of Battlefield 3.

However, this news wouldn't be important at all if Daniel Matros didn't tell us about an ESL representatives being knifed while watching an in-game ad on one of the Battlefield 3 maps!

Daniel Matros Tweeted:

With this bit of info, it seems that BF3 will have various ads all through out the game! This is good for the e-sport scene since this will allow companies to host and sponsor Battlefield 3 events worldwide while still doing their company marketing strategies within the game!

Who dares, wins.
I'm sure that saints row 2 did this aswell. I remember driving about the city and seeing a poster for the A-team, at the time it was just being released in the cinemas.

doesn't Homefront have this? I remember seeing my brother play it :O
but this would make the game more realistic and they'd be profiting off of it too!

Skate 2 has it, I don't know if Skate 3 ever did but I remember skating through the city and there are T-Mobile ads, ads for other games like Battlefield 2, and it really added realism to it.

Brilliant. It might make it more realistic, but the money they make through the ads won't go towards anything for the game. With this, they could potentially knock of money for DLC. Will they? Not a chance! If anything, I could see it going up with the popularity of the game, just like CoD's has. If CoD had in game advertising, do you think Activision would sell the DLC for 800MSP? No, they'd keep it 1200 and make more money from the ads.

I wouldn't care about the ads, but it won't make anything cheaper or better for the gamers, so it doesn't really effect us, just the company.

I would love to see in game add, DICE can pretty much do what ever they want to the Multi-player as long as we get dedicated servers.

I like the idea, sports games do it all the time. They should go ahead and make maps that are in a shopping mall with real store and merchandise. I cant wait to dress my charecter in a nice polo and Nike's, lol
