As you all know, the two biggest names in FPS franchises are both releasing a brand new, revolutionary game to the world in the next upcoming months. Battlefield hits the shelves on October 25th, while November 8th for Call of Duty. They will both be available for $60 on console. These games will ultimately compete for total sales, because more total sales means more moooolah baby. Isn't that the point in selling a product? There are many things that go into how a game sells. Now these aren't any ground rules, but the first factor is of course the game. If the game is bad, it gets taken back to the store. If the game is good, then it receives media coverage, experts recommend it, friends push friends to get it. That brings us to factor number 2. People buy games to play with their friends, whether it be on splitscreen or with your online buddies. The third factor is brand cliche. Think about it in car terms, why do so many people buy Hondas? Well, because Honda has proven itself for decades to be one of the most reliable and cost efficient car brands in the world. Would you take a gamble on a game from a new developer, or buy one from one you've enjoyed in the past?

Call of Duty's most recent games have sold more exponentially, but Battlefield has had some blockbuster games, like Battlefield 1942 and Battlefield 2.

Well, I admit I've been a HUGE COD fanboy ever since Modern Warfare, but after MW2 and Black Ops I've starting losing my love for the game. It used to be fun and I would look forward to coming home and playing some COD to relax. Now, when I play I find myself getting mad and frustrated to the point of just turning off my PS3 and doing something else. What I'm saying is, it just isn't fun anymore. COD has become so played out to me, and it just sucks to me. Not too long ago, I started playing BF2 with my neighbor and it kinda took me back to the days where I could just relax and play the game. It was fun, although I wasn't the best on the team . It didn't matter, we played as a team, had fun, and won. It was something new to me, after the years of Kill whoring, camping, and all this other bullshit that COD has become plagued with. I enjoyed and still enjoy to this day playing BF2, it makes me want to buy BF3 more than MW3. I'm not saying that COD is shit or anything but it just isn't fun to me anymore, I guess. So, I will probably be buying BF3 and I will rent MW3 . If I like MW3 I will buy it. Now in terms of which one is better, I think we all need to shut up and wait till they're actually released so we can judge that. As a franchise, COD is more popular, but that doesn't make it better. I believe it's all personal preference. If you like working as a team , you'll probably find BF better.

My signature says it all...lol and BF was around before CoD so in my opinion CoD needs to be kicked out of there spotlight and allow BF to take its spot againDancing..
