Here is something I would recommend all of you 64-bit users to do, as it will increase the gaming performance in Minecraft. Almost all of the people running Windows 64-bit, also run Java 32-bit, which is not optimized their system. To check this you have to open Minecraft and go to Task manager (Ctrl + Shift + Esc), and then click on the tab named "Processes". There you will find a process named javaw.exe. If you see the characters "*32" after the process, it means that you run the 32-bit version.

To fix this you simply have to download Java 64-bit from You must login or register to view this content. and install it. Now open Minecraft.

Congratulations! You're now running Minecraft in 64-bit. Enjoy higher FPS!

Oh, I forgot virus-scan. It's a trusted source, but anyways, here it is: You must login or register to view this content.

When it only says Java.exe it means that you're running the 64-bit version. Just Google "how to get higher fps in minecraft", and a lot of results will appear. If you've not done it already you can try to press the F-button in Minecraft to change the render distance

I'm still averaging about 20 fps second though :( Do you know any other methods to increase the fps?
