(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); Just a quick heads up, the Gran Turismo 5 download content released today will be locked to the PSN ID that purchased the content from Playstation Store. If you have other accounts on your PS3, either for yourself or friends and family, then in order to use the content on those accounts they'd have to buy the content too. Personally I think it stinks and I fear it could be a sign that future DLC for other games will be PSN ID locked rather than being installed on a PS3 system (in the Game Data Utility) and available to use for any user account as long as the purchaser's account is activated.

I think this could have something to do with why so much confusion occurred today when people bought the content on Playstation Store, only for no download button to appear after the purchase was completed. Previous DLC given in the form of redeemable PS Store codes, such as the Stealth Cars would work like any "normal" DLC and would be downloaded and installed from the store. You even had a prompt when loading GT5 stating which cars were added. Now, you have to go to the newly added "Download Content" menu on the home screen of GT5 and click on each pack to install into the game.

Sony and PD need to sort this out. It's already had some negative feedback from what I can see in and around the Gran Turismo fan community.

This sucks. I had $20 dollars lying around in my dad's account's wallet but now I'll have to go out and get myself some PSN money just for this. :argh:

Looks like Kazunori Yamauchi has been listening to all the negative reaction in the GT community. PD are releasing an update in December (called a "family upgrade") which will allow other accounts to use the DLC on the same console.

Should have released it as normal DLC in the first place!

I don't think they did this on purpose. It's because of the way you have to download it in game. They are going to fix it in December.

I thought that they were stopping game sharing with this, which doesn't matter to me because I don't do it, but if it was a mistake, that was bad from PD.

It's not the first time PD have done something that didn't go down well and then backed down..... remember when they suddenly stopped us gifting cars worth over 1,000,000 credits and then allowed it again for a limited time? Looks like they haven't learned their lesson. As for downloading the content in-game is concerned, they should have just stuck with an integrated store within the game like how LBP and FIFA do it for DLC content.

However the fact that this single ID lock thing happened has in my opinion set a precendent, and knowing Sony and their ways they'll probably work on an alternative method of locking content to one user ID in future.

Does anyone know what the "Special surprise" included in the U.S. version for being delayed will be?
