(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); Whats up guys,

So i was playing battlefield and i have to admit its one of the best and most realistic games i have ever played, but what really gets on my tits is the fact that im getting point blank hitmarkers with the SV98, If your going to make a game realistic atleast make the snipers realistic too.

Question: Would you say snipers in BF3 Are Under powered?

They are a little under powered, but all you need to do is aim above the head a little. Boom jobs a good'en Winky Winky

Yes they are. Lets start with the scope(s). Its ****ing small compared to other bf/fps games. You have to look ****ing hard to spot enemies, and after a while my eyes hurt because I have to sit ****ing close to my screen. (My vision is perfect) (I don't know about other scopes haven't unlocked them yet.) Also you have to hold your breath making it even harder.

The damage sucks balls with most of the snipers and the blink is easy to see. But in exchange we got respawns -.-. I would like to see it as it was in bfbc2, maybe tune the power a little down. I think EA told dice
not to go on a moh.

Try shooting them in a lethal place then. It helps.

Im sure there is a formula ,but at that distance were prob only talking 0.5mm max bullet drop

Sadly BF3 has to take into account map scale
So that would not work.

I believe could find the formula dice uses somewhere.

I'm gonna tell you why I think they aren't under powered. A MK11 uses 7.62x51mm NATO Bullets. Seen on the right here - You must login or register to view this content.
An SVD(Dragonov) uses 7.62x54mm bullets seen here - You must login or register to view this content.
The SV98 uses either one of the bullets. The MK11 and SVD take 3-4 hits to kill (2 if with suppression specialization) to the chest. The SV98 takes 3 (2 with suppression) to the chest, as it uses the same bullet, but is fired from a bolt action, a little more powerful and accurate. The reason they are under powered, or so they seem, is because these soldiers are wearing all their combat gear, which means the velocity of the bullet is slowed down, even more so over distance. They don't kill at point blank because it is not a strong enough bullet to go through 5 inches of combat gear and skin/organs. It'll stop a well sized man in real life, but not kill him unless in the heart or head. A shot to the stomach or leg in real life will NOT kill you. The blood loss will. They can't or didn't account for blood loss in a game. The M40A5 uses a .308 (the equivalent to 7.62.56mm NATO FMJ (Full Metal Jacket Rounds)) seen here - You must login or register to view this content. This is fired from a bolt action, high powered, rifle. Kills in 2 (1 with suppression) to the chest. They are not under powered, just very real.

although i heard the M40A5 does 1 shot kills but i am far from getting it

it shouldn't take 3 shots to kill someone even if you hit them in the chest and I hate the SVD and the MK I hate getting sprayed by them :/ its ****ing annoying
