Since 2011 is now over we can look at the games which were pirated and enjoyed by many "pirates" and see the huge download totals.

Crysis 2

Thats right, an unfinished version of the game was leaked and pirated a month before release, however the majority of downloads in fact came after the game was launched. It managed to rack up an estimated 3,920,000 downloads on the PC and claims the number 1 spot for 2011.

In second place and no surprise came Modern Warfare 3 after an employee stole a copy from a shipping warehouse in California, and posted it online. It managed to gather 3,650,000 PC downloads, however if we take into account multiple platforms xbox had 830,000 downloads, totaling 4,480,000 which would infact have taken the number 1 position.

Ps3 is not on this list due to the numbers of pirated games being very low compared to other consoles.

So there you have it, the list of the most pirated games of 2011. With games getting more popular and have more hype there's no doubt we will see even more pirate downloads this year as well.

It shows how secure our system is versus others, since others are able to easily jailbreak and install pirated games where we have so much to do just to even get into the system to do any sort of modification, which is good due to very little hacked lobbies now, Xbox is in a crap hole with some of their games due to modified data.

What about if they want to use it for research, or they want to play a little to see if its worth money for it, games these days can come around £50 and not everyone can afford £50 every time a new game comes out, people pirate games to see what their like, I pirated counter strike source on my old computer to see if I could run it then I bought the whole game
