(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); Looks like helis may be removed from BF3 well the ones which are owned by Textron.
Textron has started a case against EA asking them to remove the helis from the game.

Textron who own Bell Helicopters is asking that all copies of it helis are removed from the game.
EA as been in talks with Textron to stop the case going to court but it broken down.

EA is hoping the First Amendment and the doctrine of nominative fair use protects them.

Bit stupid if you ask me :/
Helps your band image if people know about your products. Also it not a full copy of the heli and but your take on it.
Fail to see why it a issue >_>
Lets hope SOPA does not pass cos we be seeing more cases like this

Easter Egg!
And this affects Textron in what way? its only a helicopter design /facepalm.. its not like your design is gonna be stolen from a FPS by terrorists or anything :dumb:

Looks to me like they are doing this for the money.. you can sue a company for anything nowadays..
EA should just remove the heli`s.. make new ones and have the words "**** YOU TEXTRON" added on the heli`s.. just for the lolz

On a serious note.. what has this world come to? you can take a company to court for just about anything small detail. EA will win this one.

GOOD. TEXTRON HELICOPTEES SUCK.

Put in a "Night Stalker" Sikorsky Blackhawk to replace the Venom, and the new Boeing Apache Longbow for the Viper.

Firstly EA will easily win that case.

Secondly how is this related to SOPA? SOPA in it's internet-killing glory only affects internet domains. Nothing more.

SOPA is linked to PIPA
Which if passed leads the way to other laws about copyright. So may get a rewrite on the current copyright laws.
Bit loose on it being related to SOPA Smile

Your right EA is going to win this easy.

Lol I agree. If they are so worried about the cosmetic design of their helicopter being stolen by China or Iran they seriously have issues. Honestly if your design gets stolen who cares, it's not like the technology in the helicopter is getting stolen. I would laugh so hard if some rich billionaire bought a MD500/AH-6 and sold it to Iran, North Korea or China and then send Textron a message saying "You mad :carling:"

In my opinion Textron should go after games that have E-Z-GO golf carts in it.. god forbid that the technology and cosmetics of it are also going to be stolen.

EDIT:

Also not only should they target EA and DICE they should also go after Activision and Infinity Ward since they also have Bell aircraft in the game. Especially the Bell Boeing V-22 Osprey :dumb: In all honesty I just think they are targeting EA since it's a better game.

There are two reasons EA will win this easy.
1. On the back of the case, it clearly states in bold "The depiction of any weapon or vehicle in this game does not indicate affiliation, sponsorship or endorsement by any weapon or vehicle manufacturer."
2. EA is a U.S. Based company, therefore being protected by the First Amendment. More specifically the right to free speech and freedom of press (because of any press releases EA does involving the choppers).
