and that is to offer digital downloads for games the same day they are available for retail.

Earlier today during an investor's conference, global president Satoru Iwata revealed Nintendo's
plans to offer consumers the option to purchase content in the digital format instead of the boxed
form on the same day. Nintendo plans on having this option available from the launch of the Wii U,
but is currently only slated for first-party software at the moment.

The 3DS is also planned to have this feature implemented sometime in August with the launch of
Super Mario Bros. 2. Which do you guys prefer? To have the disc in hand, or the ease of just downloading
the game onto your console?

I commend Nintendo on trying new things, so maybe now they will concentrate on making games people actually want to play.

I wouldn't say that exactly :p Nintendo may not cater to the hardcore gamer, but they have the family game market
on lockdown. It's without a doubt that the younger generation appreciates the Wii since it is so affordable. However, I do
agree that they'll attract more customers now. Just as long as that controller thing doesn't get too complex :p
