The plot of Undead Nightmare starts almost at the end of the original game, as if this is an alternate ending. You are with your wife, Abigail Marston, and you here your friend, Uncle, outside. You and Abigail do to check on him. You see him looking a lot different than usual. Rotted skin, blood on the teeth, and he isn't speaking right. Suddenly Uncle runs at Abigail and bites her in the neck. You are forced to then shoot and kill Uncle. Abigail turns into a creature of the undead and ends up biting her son Jack also. John Marston (you) not having the heart to kill your wife or child hogtie them up and place them in the bedroom. Your job is to find out what happened to cause the zombie outbreak and if there is a cure to stop it all. You will meet a lot of friendly and familiar faces as you try to figure out what the hell is happening and how to stop it all before it goes way out of hand. I found the story to be very good and this is a great DLC, but you'll see why else I like it soon!
The gameplay of Undead Nightmare is exactly the same as in the original game, but with one very big difference. There are zombies. In the movies and stuff it is said that the only way to kill a zombie is with a headshot. That is not the case in Undead Nightmare, but headshots do make is a lot easier to kill them. The ammo is not as plentiful as in the original game. There are only a couple of ways to find it. You can kill a zombie and try to get one or two bullets for a sniper rifle or something from the corpse. Steal from a survivor that is camping, which turns the survivor hostile and wants to kill you. Or you can save a town and get ammo as a reward. To save a town all you have to do is go into a major town from the original game and just kill all of the zombies in the area. There will be a little notification if one of them is under attack so you can go help that town. I found this to be a fun little thing to do and saving all the territories makes you feel like a boss.
The controls are exactly the same as in the original. Nothing has changed there. In multiplayer they have added new characters, such as a zombie version of John Marston, Irish, Landon Rickets, etc. I thought that was very cool. But that's not what made the multiplayer of Undead Nightmare so good, that would be the cooperative version of the game, Undead Overrun. Undead Overrun is the equivalent of Gears of War 2's Horde Mode. You are in a small area with waves after waves of enemies coming after you, you are also timed. Time is rewarded for how fast you can finish the round of the game. This overall was a very fun little mini game but I didn't get to play it that much because most of my friends didn't buy this DLC. The gameplay of Undead Nightmare is very similar to that of the original, which is very good!
The graphics haven't really improved much from the original, same engine, same voice actors. The voice acting is spot on, as in the original. I did like the animations that the zombies made while running, spitting, or tackling at you. I thought that it was actually pretty funny and I had a good time. The graphics really made the game feel right at home.
I didn't experience many issues besides the usual that you would get in every game, characters glitching into the walls of buildings, animals and props floating around in the air, and even the odd completely disfigured character whose body parts were all over the place in one massive blur! But other than those, there were no other issues at all and the game ran extremely smoothly!
Overall Rating
Red Dead Redemption: Undead Nightmare get's 9/10. This game is as good as the original, but it it could have been better without the odd glitches, but hey, not everything can be perfect!

Sorry it's a few years late, but here it is anyway!
I think that Red Dead Redemption has to be one of my favorites game's! Great story line and will always love it.
When they released Undead Nightmare I couldn't wait! Personally was and still is one of my favorite Zombie Game.
I love the wild west, I love zombies. What a PERFECT combination for me! I love riding my war horse and killing all the zombies in the wild west and doing the amazing story line! I would give it a 10/10.
