DICE reportedly quadrupled the amount of official servers, in response to fan request. The "rent-a-server" feature has since removed almost all of the official DICE servers. The feature allows any one to host a Battlefield 3 server. Server administrators have full control over the server and the users who play in it.

Abuse of administration powers and the ability to alter how long a match takes to complete, has left fans wanting more DICE servers with standard rules. DICE has answered the call.

Simply switch to the "search" tab in the Battlefield 3 Server Browser and type "DICE". However, beware of impostors. Check that the server owner is listed as "DICE", and not a username from your respective platform.

Just a note on the abuse of power.... I am on Xbox and playing on sharqi peninsula hardcore rush all of the sudden " and this was only a minute ago" I got banned from a server... I was 37-6 defending top of the game and smashing the other team like a bunch of noobs... Then all of the sudden my screen went blank... Then to the menus and the message " you have been banned from this server " by a f-Witt who couldn't handle having his ass handed to him, the server is called 24\7 200% and it is owned by PETROFIN... The admin who kicked me was Jonson FIN and His homo friend FIN GUNMETAL.

wow... someone that agrees with my idea!!! I suggested this awhile back to DICE, but they said they weren't or wasn't a way of putting a filter in!!!! Abit shit if you ask me!!! All I wanted to do was play in a normal server, normal rules, not to much to ask for is it????

FINALLY, seriously loosing my patience with the admins. This one game I was playing and we were winning so bad that the admin switched me over to the other team, it counted as a loss for me, stupid admins. I'll be happy to get back on the normal dice servers.

Some admins are ok on bf3 and some will make you mad

You don't have to pay, you could just play on other people's servers. It costs money to keep a server running, that is how they 1. make a profit and 2. keep their own servers running.
