Post: [Tutorial] Switching Paints!

(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); Evenin' all,

Switching your paint is easy and requires very little time, so you can do this while modding other things. I will need help compiling a list of paint codes, but for now I have the Golden Chrome! No more paint chips!

First off, when you open the gt-5 file, hit CTRL+G, and type in :

    0000E840

Now you should see something looking like 00 FF FF FF

You must login or register to view this content.

The selected code in the above image is the paint data. This is the only thing that needs changing in order to repaint your car.

Here are some paint codes :

Gold Chrome : 01 11 FF FF
Reflex Purple : 00 92 1F FF
Nero Nemesis : 01 9E 3F FF
DefaultColour : 00 00 00 00
Matte Dark Grey : 01 0F A3 55
Frankfurt Gray Pearl : 00 09 1F FF
Burning Red : 00 0E 3F FF
Yellow : 00 5F DF FF
Can-Am White : 00 99 3F FF
Light French Blue : 00 54 3F FF
Dolphin grey : 00 9F DF FF
Aurora Flare Blue Pearl (2P) : 01 9F DF FF
Default Color : 03 FF FF FF (Note, this is the first color the car came in, NOT just very dark black)
Electric Orange : 00 63 7F FF
Ultimate Black : 00 7D 5F FF
Matte white : 05 0F 5F FF
Matte black 05 0F 3F FF

More codes here :

Got the chrome code after repainting a Veyron. I imported it to a GT-R'07 and a Ford GT-40 '06, both have worked.

Of course, after editing, update and recompile the document, replace the save, load up GT5 and go into GT Auto. If the car has indeed changed color, buy an oil change (burn a mile in a new car online quickly before re painting) then go into your garage, highlight the thumbnail of your car, press Triangle, select "Create a Thumbnail" and either :
- Favorite it, and go into the Favorite menu to see it fixed
- Go into a different menu (Simply switching from Premium/Standard or Standard/Premium) and go back.

You now have a Gold Car! With a fixed thumbnail!

Credits :

- Vectriixx, for his amazing tutorials, without which I would ever have done this.
- Bounkass, for being there when I found the code Winky Winky
- dr1ft3r, for helping me fix the thumbnail.
- ANYBODY who has either PM'd me a color, or posted a color.

Regards, Tidus.

Hope u guys enjoy the colours Smile

You posted 7 color codes. The first 5 numbers are for the car color, the last three for the rims.
Use FFF as last part to have standard colored rims.

Sand Beige: 01731 FFF would be better to put as 01730 B98 (B98 is the same color but used on rims)

Real dark black colour: 91EC6 C3E. This are two colors. On the first you are using high numbers.
Does 01E6C F36 give the same result?
This is the other one 0187C C3E.

Nice Pearlescent red: 9007B 203. Again a very high number.
0007B 03D Corrected for highest part, check if this is the same color. (last 3 bytes for rims in the same color again.)
00406 203 The color part you posted as rim part.

Rosso Pearlescent: 3015B A7F Again two codes. 0015A 0AD
014FE A7F

Please use paint codes on a car with paintable rims.

If you like this to be explained go here: You must login or register to view this content.
If your codes (the first part of 5 bytes) gives different colors than the ones i put down (other than that they now have rims colored in the same color) please let me know, we are not sure of the meaning of the numbers above 04000 FFF yet.

sorry man. i am new to this. only been hacking cars for just over a day now. the paint codes is something new to me. i have been trying to paint my Kublewagon gold chrome with the same colour rims..

what would be the code for that? the code on here is 0111FFFF.

i have been wracking my brain trying to work out what that tutorial means.
and yes i havent done much hexing so its all pretty new to me.

This site does have alot of good info on it.

i do believe that the codes i put up do have rim colour codes as well in them.

No need to say sorry.

0111F FFF is listed as paint code for gold chrome. But it is odd (the first part) wich makes the rims unaintable. So better use 0111E FFF

To paint the car and rims in gold use this one:

0111E 88F

(0111E/2=88F rimcolor = carcolor/2 )

Tidus said you to see the other tutorial...

ok so Real dark black colour: 91EC6 C3E paints both the car and rims. its kind of a black that doesnt reflect light.. none at all.
01E6C F36 and 0187C C3E does give the same result and the colour is called 5727cc.. interesting name.

Nice Pearlescent red: 9007B 203 is infact Monza Red Pearl and only paints the body.
0007B 03D does give the same result and 00406 203 is infact Bleu Iliade and paints both rims and body.

Rosso Pearlescent: 3015B A7F only paints the body.
0015A 0AD code is the same colour and paints both rims and body.
014FE A7F is actually the colour called Mimosa. a gloss yellow and paints both the rims and the body.

Thanks for the colour codes. its been fun seeing what will happen with them. and hope the info i found from testing them helps to.

Thanks, i saw i made two misstakes.

The first in putting a 6 and C the other way arround.
01E6C F36 should be 1EC6 F63 (typo made by me you started with 91EC6 xxx)

The other is that 0007B is an odd number so 0007A 03D will paint body and rims.

Thanks for letting us know what happened. Nice color name. :y:
