For those of you that don't know .ELF files are what they mod for example Call of Duty XP lobbies and other games. You can essentially make XP lobbies for GT 5.

So I've wandered around the .ELF file for a few hours in IDA and almost nothing I've found links to a Float value of any sort which throws me of because I have no clue what to change or how to read PowerPC language. Maybe we can use IDA to find the Hex offsets in the debugger though, I'm not positive how they correlate to each other.

I think you have to use the ps3 plug in IDA in order to read the elf files. PowerPC language doesn't show the floats for me either :?:

Yeah I got the plugins and loaders in the folder.

I found this not too long ago.

Well friggin done 192, such a shame I never cfw'd any of my PS3's and with PS4 already on pre-order not going to happen at all otherwise i'd have been working on this day and night. This is a whole different ball game as i'm sure you know and finding any offsets etc, is such a PITA.

Maybe I did something stupid.

I had an app made, that could hybrid a vehicle on track but my HDD crashed before I could put the final touches on it.
I might re-make it in early september.

So changing colors, etc on track is possible without backing out to change cars to make the changes take effect? I'm running the debugger now looking for offsets.

On track I could just click restart lap or whatever & it would take effect.
The offsets were either just after (couple megabytes after) the 0x8000000 or 0xC0000000 in logical address space.

I could only get it to work in practice mode though.
Anywhere else it seemed it was reloading the car's info from somewhere else not in main memory.

Yeah Call of Duty is the same way. It loads the memory from two different places that's why before I even start I'm finding ALL of the 03 FF FF FF's. So far I've found 7. I haven't tested them yet because it's still searching.

If you can code (ps3mapi), you can save yourself a ton of time by dumping the entire logical address space.
Then search that with HxD

Coding and me don't get along at all and I simply don't have the time tomorrow. I've got my simulation test tomorrow for the national airline and if I pass you won't be seeing me around for quite some time because ground school will follow with some intense studying. Searching for offsets is the only thing I can really do because I can leave it to search while I study. Hopefully someone else will come along and pick up my slack. There are so many possibilities when it comes to modding .ELF files.
