If they could get the save itself decrypted then they could get unbanned. But since I'm guessing this would just be to decrypt it for the too only, they couldn't.

I don't think you will be banned using it on OFW because I think the developers of GT6 made a check whether or not you're using a CEX/DEX PS3

No, people that got reported got banned. No one else. There are no CFW checks and no real time hybrid checks.

The ban info is on the server not in the save. Moving your save to another user in not the save as being unbanned.

GT5 would have the same code for this as GT6 as it is a standard CRC checksum, nothing secret about it at all. Checksums are used to test for valid data, not as a security measure. Standard CRC checks have a long successful history in computing so why would Sony mess with it?
