Post: Question: Why have "Cheats Codes" faded away slowly after the PS2?

(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); I'm not worried about my specifications or technicality here, but I notice on a select few games I wish I could mod them. I wish I could make them do what I wanted when I wanted. Modding seems to be to me, the current modern day "cheat code".

I remember when we could play Star Wars: Battlefront 2 & have infinite life & see funny captions when Rebels are killed by Wampas. Or in San Andreas, to where I can run around town with my flying car & dive bomb into other cars & make them all explode on touch. These are the kind of things I miss.

I don't want to go around manifesting new files into my game or dealing with iso's. I just wanna know what made it so games developers stopped producing cheat codes for current games. These codes were practically like a Easter Egg.

Thanks to anyone who reads this Smile
