ok first you need to check if your PS3 can be jailbroken, not all can be. If its a new gen super slim give up now.

secondly its not as easy as download a youtube file and install, everything on youtube is FAKE!!! unless its an actual guide to downgrade using a hardware flasher.

I suggest doing some more research before you attempt this as it seems you do not fully understand what is involved, I'm not trying to be rude i just don't want you to stuff your PS3.

I agree with StinkNutzz, you need to find out if your ps3 can actually downgrade before anything.

There is no point on staying or going to 3.55/4.40CFW. Homebrews and GAMES currently out now do not support 3.55 CFW anymore. You would have to resigned current games to 3.55 to make them work.

Just update to the most current CFW out there to enjoy the latest game and homebrew currently out.

i checked it i have a normal ps3 slim and it can be downgraded to 3.55. im not downgrading it myself but i only want to mod lobbies and someone told me i need a console id to

ok cool, a lot of people who downgrade may install your choice of CFW if you ask, if not follow one of the many guides here on NGU to avoid a semi brick.
As for console ID, if you are able to currently sign in psn on OFW it will still work on CFW BUT make sure you use PSIDPatch to spoof your ID to avoid console ban.
