yes its possible but the ps3 would need to be the same model for the parts to fit and work i have refurbished a few consoles myself im sure some ps3 models if replacing the blu ray drive you need to remary the board just google or use youtube

@RAB Yea by model you mean slim super slim and phat version right? If so then yea they are the same and they bluray works on mine but it says the cfw one doesn't so I'm I going to need a few extra steps to make the bluray work with the replaced parts? And what parts are the most important ones to get cfw on mine?
