You have to be Elite to sell, legit or not. If you want rep, stay active and post/help out the community. I've seen members without Elite who do free recoveries till they upgrade to Elite and they gain reputation.

I'm not 100% sure, but if that was the case I wouldn't have got a warning a few months ago for trying to sell.

I am pretty sure it's 100 posts, but I think it's just to sell items. I will double check and get back with you.
