Im not sure what type of motherboard it is. is there anyway i can tell what motherboard it is so i can figure out if i can downgrade and what to use? I dont want to think i have a CECHG and use Progskeet when i possibly have a NOR chip and i can use the E3 Flasher lol.

Well if they swapped out your motherboard with a brand new, then they only way to be certain what you currently have is to open up the PS3 and take a good look at what motherboard model you have.

You will notice on the left hand side COK-002. That is the motherboard model!

Once you know take a look at this chart to see if you have a NAND or NOR by searching under "MODEL"

Afterwards, look at the "FLASH" and that will tell you if you have definitely have a NOR or NAND

your a life saver sir, im glad for the charts you posted. those really helped! i figured out it was a 40gb FAT PS3, but they swapped my hard drive in it. im a CECHG01 which makes it a 40gb ps3 with a SEM-001 and 256MB Nand. so no E3 Flasher for me
