If you can go into recovery mode do that. Then go to system update. Get the latest update form sonys website (google for it) and put it on the correct folders then update the system. It should then work after doing that

No I can't turn it on...but I will try a HDD,I've also herd it can be power supply

i fix ps3 systems all the time the problem can be a few different things....
1st is the ps3 under warrenty?
2nd is it extremely dusty in the ps3?
3rd is the uniit on all the time?

If sytem is under warrenty send to sony if not then there are a few things you can do to fix it so if theres no warrenty add me to skype and ill walk you thru it..

thats not going to work dude...He said his ps3 shuts right off,which is usually because of the system overheating
thermal paste and a cleaning usually fixes that or its a bad power supply
rare occassions its the hdd but doubtful

thats a small possibility thats why i said contact me on skype if its not under warrenty
