(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); When I turn it on it from a red solid button it turns green for a few seconds then goes back to no light if I click it again it goes back to red, cannot get it to boot to xmb. Tried heating up power supply for 10 minutes with a hair dryer, dont know if I heated it long enough. I looked it up but cant find any solutions other than the power supply fix, any answer greatly appreciated!

yea this can be a few different things tho..... doess it turn yellow in the process then go red.....
if you have a harddrive sometimes rarely but sometimes you can swap the hdd out to another one and they work...
it can also be the power supply
it can also have something to do with the thermal paste on the rsx and gpx chip
try hdd first then you can take it apart and check the thermal paste and the power supply

I don't think so but there may be one around somewhere...... if not you can add me to Skype and I could try n walk you thru it.... you are going to need to tear down the ps3 down to the motherboard to do it and if it don't work then it is definitely a power supply, and don't listen to this guy above you don't need to buy new one just get a power supply beforehand from ebay and at same time replace the thermal paste on it buy mx paste its the best also can be purchased on ebay.... or you can send it to me to be serviced for you I charge 50 dollars plus parts unless you buy and ship parts with ps3

If you haven't opened your ps3 at all, and it still has the sticker, buy the insurance for it and send it to Sony, don't take a risk at opening it and not find Wts wrong with it said just send it back to sony

if its a superslim which is unopened you can get a new one from sony for free (if its younger then 1-2 years)
