So I've been having a really bad time with my internet lately and need someone who really understands networking to help me. I live in Egypt and mainly play BO2 and GTA V on ps3...I'm currently paying for 8mbps download and 1mbps upload speeds. On BO2 it shows my bandwidth at around 835kbps (i'm guessing they measure upload speed?)...So my questions are:

1) Would switching to a symmetrical 4mbps LEASED LINE help me at all? Or would it hurt?

2) Is my upload speed the problem? (ex....on BO2 I can join a multiplayer game online, but after a few seconds i get "connection interrupted" and I can still move around for around 5 seconds but all other players appear to be walking in place) so does this point towards poor upload or download speed? or high ping?

3) When I run speedtest.net on their recommended server I usually get between 7.4 and 7.8mbps DOWNLOAD SPEED and around 0.82mbps UPLOAD SPEED and 10ms PING

HOWEVER

if I choose to do a speedtest on a USA server I usually get between 5.4 and 7.5mbps DOWNLOAD SPEED and between 0.6 and 0.8 UPLOAD SPEED and between 150-250ms PING!!

I know ping is very important so my next question is.... will switching to a leased line decrease my ping at all (keep in mind egypt is still in the process of switching to fiber which will take around 2 more years...we are mostly working off copper wire at the moment)



PS.... I've already done DMZ and QoS on my router and disabled UPnP so please don't suggest I do that because its already been done. I also have custom MTU values on my router and set the PS3 mtu to auto (spoke to a linksys technician and it did make a little difference)

This is literally driving me CRAZY so anyone who knows anything about leased lines please reply....

Also, sorry if this is the wrong section....please help me find the right one if it is....I figured since I'm playing on PS3 I would post here and not in the pc section...Also, depending on the replies i get this may help other PS3 users shed light on their network issues and help clarify some things about upload speed and ping when playing bo2 or gta v
