Another example is while playing fallout New vegas it freezes mid game

Some of these things may just be the game bugged out in general, but I would recommend (assuming you're using MM or something) to enable 'bd mirror' and see if that may fix various black screens.

If your console is on DEX there is also another possible fix if you require.

Yepyep, Tomb Raider did that to me whilst I was midway thru and was going through a cave. It may be helpful to use the opposite of your game, that is to say, if you're using a backedup version (BLES/BLUS/BLJS), try the pkg version (NPEB/NPUB/NPJB), and vice versa. Another thing to try is putting your system to release mode through debug settings.
