(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); Okay so basically i have a cech2002a that runs like crap and in order to fix it properly its gonna be to difficult as i can not buy off the internet for some time, so i was wondering if the bluray drive would work in a cech2102b if i could switch the boards and would it work? idk if the type of laser and ribbon cords are the same size for the board or not or if its compatable thats what i wanna know, i know the plugs that go into the board look the same but i wanna be sure they are before i pull consoles apart and try switching them.

I'm almost certain thats the exact models where they changed it up a bit, but I could be wrong!...


Basically, if the disc drive has a bottom (silver) ribbon, then you can use another bottom ribbon disc drive.

If it has a back (silver) ribbon, use another with also a back ribbon.

and I think this counts towards any ps3 20xxx series to 30xxx series.

Rememeber you still need to swap logic boards! Always keep your original.

i was reading the dev wiki and it said the cech 20XXX BD works in most slim models and i know the bluray is the same externally i just wanted to be sure the board was compatible and it is so it's good i know how to fix blu ray drives but like i said i was not sure on compatibility on the ps3 as i came from xbox and some boards wouldn't work cause laser was different ect. i don't like working with 25XXX drives and 30XXX drive cause the ribon cable can be annoying to put in at times but at least they have a built in board though the older 2XXXX when they, example of my first ps3, the blu ray drive clips inside where broken by my older brother trying to fix it so i ended up flashing the console and removing everything except the board, worked out good cause more air gets in console and homebrew and games still worked without BD fix, though i had to get a second ps3 to get games onto it and ended up getting a ofw for general play online so the whole thing worked out great but now my ps3 with the BD is running like complete **** and i have concluded that its being caused but the cpu or another component the board and is easier to just put the console aside to i decide to fix it one day. but i need to buy some stuff first. ATM i just need a quick long term solution and this is it.
