Hi all,
A few days ago i posted a question regarding vpns and what i can do to stop kids on PSN from getting my ip. I settled with My IP Hide, i am using the free trial. I set it up on my PC and it is running as i play PS3. I entered the port number and my PC's local IP into the ps3 proxy settings and when i check on the web browser (Find My IP) it shows not my real ip but a masked ip address. After all this i was sure i had been successful however i have been dosed TWICE in the last week? Is there something i have done wrong during the setup procedure. As of right now i am incredibly confused.

I don't know how your doing the VPN Setup but thats not how it usually works. You have to get a program like connectify and make your computer a hotspot after you have turned on the vpn on your computer. But i can never get mine to work so good luck.
Thanks for the response. I used a different tutorial because i think my vpn is slightly different to other tutorials ive seen.
- This is the tut i used.
So far i checked on my ps3 (Find my IP) and it showed a different ip to the normal non-proxy one. Is it possible that it could be leaking my real ip from ps3 or pc? should i try a different VPN service. Surely if it was working i wouldnt be getting dosed by your average psn user. Just really want to get this fixed.

well setting up a vpn on your ps3 is pointless if someone already have your real ip
1. do you think that's whats happening? is there a way to go around the VPN?
2. Is there a way to change my IP if they've already got it?
Thanks
im not sure about anywhere else but i know in the states that majority of the isp give dynamic ip, so i all you got to do is unplug your router for 24hrs ro call and ask your to change your ip and there is no way around the vpn

Interesting, thanks for your help. If the problem persists i might try a alternative VPN.
