(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); my power button and eject button both do both things and its a pain cause at times it stuff the console shut off, i'm 90% sure its the ribbon cord, say the points that connect look like this IIII mine are half the length and one of them is missing 99% of the conductive bit, i assume thats why its not working properly so can someone confirm if this is mostly the issue and if so link a new ribbon cord or entire panel and cord things, CECH21XX

i'm not home nor am i gonna pull my ps3 back apart to take a photo, its been damaged for years but now i think one of the little silver lines or gold not sure has peeled out to much causing the panel to be stupid and making both buttons do the some thing or it could be touching one of the other conducting bits, like the ends that go into the ps3 were pealing off, like there all half length have been for ages but i think one as ether crossed over making a bridge or is now to short, just wanna verify its the cause and if so, a link to a new cable would be great. i wouldnt know have to find that cable i don't know the proper name

How can anyone verify it is the cause if they can't see it? It could be damaged but it could barely be fine as well...

But yes, something as sensitive as a power button ribbon would need to be replaced if it took damage to the gold contacts. This will cause your buttons to act irregular or unresponsive and can also short your ps3..

"power button ribbon" on ebay should bring you to what you need. Just make sure its one for 20xxx series...
