and i formatted that harddrive of the redscreen of death ps3 in my working ps3 i put it back into the broken one and now it turn on and turn back off does any one know a way of fixing this?

try put it in recovery mode by holding the ps3 while it's off until it restarts and then it should be off again and hold it until you hear two consecutive beeps, go connect your controller then go all the way down to install firmware. then install the firmware that was on it before you formatted hd, if you don't know then i'd install the newest. bttw post in questions section next time it's a question.

I had red screen of death, found a solution, my ps3 works now.

ok so if you fixed it why not share instead of saying you fixed it and it works.

try this:

go to recovery and select the option "rebuild database"

check if the screen its still showing

if this dont work.

try Re-installing your current firmware.
