All you would need is dual boot meaning. That you would just boot 3.55 Put patch. Then boot back to online firmware. Then there you go patch runs online.

ya if you have 2 ps3 3 use flasher on 1 to downgrade and transfer if both on high firmware pass 3.55

if you are using two HDD's to dual boot between 3.55 and 3.72 there is no need to data transfer
