(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); Hi there
i am incredibly sorry if this has already been posted, but yes i am a n00b and i need help :mad:
i am considering buying an E3 flasher (the non soldering edition) and an extra hard drive (for dual boot), but i was wondering if i could upload custom patches for games (Mw2 CoD4 etc) and take them online (with or without patch blocker, i dont mind) somehow with the device..?

i was thinking of either-
* downgrading to 3.55cfw on one hd, uploading the patch and re-updating to take online? which is okay but a bit troublesome. :(
or else
*backing up the cfw ps3 HDD and restoring to the OFW HDD hopefully bringing the patch over as well? (it is backing up to the same ps3 still so i thought it might work)
Any help is much appreciated Happy
(once again sorry if this is posted elsewhere or a bad description of my problem, it is my first thread ive ever started )

I also have alot of dlc as well. It's the only way to do it. Having the E3 flasher is like having 2 ps3's in 1. Using backup and restore is like doing a data transfer with 2 ps3's like I do. Backup all you dlc and then do your patches. When you are ready to play with your dlc again just restore it. It's alot faster than re-downloading them. You will have to reactivate you dlc though. Just go into the store and start the download after activation is complete you can cancel the download.

thanks man, but that sucks about the dlc n that though :/ because i downloaded mine off several accounts, i might get 3 HDDs , 1-3.72 with DLC 2-3.72 for hosting 3.cfw what do you think?

so its either use back-up and restore method, or use cfw to get patches and upgrade to 3.72 to take online, then downgrade again if i want to change it ?

have you tested the back-up and restore method? if so how long does it take?

thanks man Smile

Just backing up took around 2 hours. Never restored yet. Not looking forward to either.

when I make my backups, I always delete everything except for the patch so it goes really fast :y:

i dont believe you read the question correctly, i do not have 2 ps3's i have 1 ps3, several HDDs and a E3 Flasher
you cant data transfer without 2 ps3's :/
so im going to most likely use backup and restore method
