So here's the deal, I have a ps3 on 3.55 kmeaw, I've finally given up on holding out and I'm going to update back to official firmware my question is say i put some sort of patch on for MW2 would the patch stay there and be able to be used once I was on-line? If the answer is yes then how does this work exactly would i need to bypass the update for the game?

Another question i have is what would be the safest way of going back to ofw? Deleting homebrew >> clear history >> recovery menu back to ofw 3.55 >> update from ofw 3..5 to 3.7x or is there another way?

Any custom patches (including your MW2 one!) will stay on your PS3 after you upgrade.

If you want to safely return to OFW, just update back to 3.55 (Official), and from there update to the latest official firmware.

There's no need to delete your homebrew; it will simply return an error if you try to start it.

(For the record, I returned to OFW awhile ago, and have been regretting it a lot recently; make absolutely sure that you want to update, there's no turning back!)
