(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); I recently bought a new PS3 Slim, because my old one fell off the TV stand and Skyrim would no longer play, so I just went out and bought a new Slim PS3; Hoping that it would be >3.55FW - Unfortunately it was one of the new 3000+ models of the Slim with 3.66FW.

So, I'm planning on buying the E3 flasher and installing it on my old Fat, which has a NOR chip (It's one of the CECHL models)
I don't exactly need dual boot, I just want to be able to downgrade it and play downloaded games using multiman and doing the occasional data transfer to my new ps3 slim so that I can use hacked patches.

Summing it all up - I don't need to go back and forth between firmwares so should I just buy it now and do a data transfer after I have put patches (etc) on to the fat -> to the new slim ps3 on 3.73FW

Would that work?

(I feel I rambled on a little bit, I haven't a clue about what I'm talking about, obviously )

Yea you lost me a little lol. But I would recommend you buy the e3 Flasher cause you can downgrade and spoof the ps3 to the latest firmware so you can play online with out having to data transfer.

dont buy the flasher because your new ps3 cant downgrade to 3.55 just wait for 3.72 cfw or 3.73 cfw which ever comes first:catfight:

You aren't being serious are you? It could be several months before a CFW is made, even with the new developments. Still, a CFW might never be made for 3.55 +:mad:

i never fully understood how spoofers work, I always thought they were just so that your PS3 wouldn't update itself or you wouldn't accidentally update it.

Can you explain it or link me to something?

The spoofer tricks your ps3 into thinking its on the latest firmware. That way you will have access to PSN and online play while on cfw.

I thought the spoofer was patched

Yeah buy it its solderless for nor flash ps3s, we wont see another 3.60+ cfw release & dual nand only saves time between downloading and installing the latest FW on your ps3. softmodding days are over
