I really need to know because I have 2 ps3s, one on cfw 3.55 and the other one on 4.00 ofw. I want to hack on mw2 version 1.13 using the transfer method but on my 4.00 ps3 i have game save data with 100% sync in assassins creed 2 and other copy right prohibited exclusive content for the assassins creed series, this is copyright prohibited. So what i wanted to do was to do a data transfer from the 4.00 ps3 to the 3.55 ps3 first so that all my saved data and stuff would be on the 3.55. I would then edit the mw2 1.13 patch and do a data transfer back to my 4.00 ps3. But if the system firmware/software is transferred with everything else... well yer, not good.

Ok youll need to use a spoofer on your 3.55 if your transfering from 4.0 to 3.55. If not it will tell you that you have to update, but it will not do it without telling you, there ya go

why not backup your4.00 system then data transfer, then back it up after you data transfer again, then just restore it anytime you wanna play assassins creed? just another idea

because a back cant copy copyright restricted data. Only a data transfer can, and that cut the data instead of coping, or if you have a playstation plus account you can back up only the game saves but not extra content like extra missions ect.

im pretty sure using the system backup utility u can copy the purchased items etc because only your system can use the backup because it is idetified with your ps3's id and the backup wont run unless its the same. thus you can give someone else your backup and give them all your content and purchases so i dont see why not? if your talking about copying onto a usb then No , you are correct copyrighted or locked data wont allow it. i might be wrong i was just offering a sugestion
