All the led’s light up and the softboard of the ribbon cable isn’t damaged. I have a Thermaltake BlacX HDD Dock plugged into the flasher via sata cable. When I turn on my Ps3, I get a black screen, and the power and eject buttons on my ps3 are unresponsive. Please help, I’ve been through so much crap with this e3 flasher, and have spent so much money trying to get it to work. It doesn’t boot to the xmb, or anything. I have had such bad luck with this.

1st. I ordered the e3 flasher thinking I was getting the Limited 3K Edition, but to no avail, I received just the nor flasher ($66).
2nd. Found out I needed a dongle, so I ordered the PS Jailbreak ($9.99). It arrived and I found out it was a clone and wouldn’t work.
3rd. Had to order HDD Dock ($54.95)
4th. Had to order the E3 card reader ($9.99)
5th. Had to order a sata cable ($7.49) Later, I found that the HDD Dock already came with one.
6th. After installing the flasher on my other slim, I found out that the ps3 was broken.
7th. Had to buy a used ps3 off craigslist ($190).
8th. And now I get a black screen. $338 For a ****ing Black Screen.

So your ps3 wouldnt boot to the xmb, and you had problems backing up your bios?

No. It was having problems though. It wouldnt boot for about 1 hour.

Only wy to find out if your ps3 is fine is to remove e3 solderless clip, then boot your ps3.
If it doesn't display black screen then its e3's dodgey clip, if it black screens then its a hardware problem.
