Post: RE: Where the heck is the progskeet downgrade guides

(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); Hello,

I am trying to downgrade my PS3 from 4.11 to 3.55, I just recieved a adapter in the mail along with a progskeet v 1.1. I have looked on the net forever and as popular as downgrading with progskeet seems there are no tutorials anywhere. I have been able to find out that I dont have all the items needed to downgrade, I think I will need a nor clip and also a injectus jtag to update prog. I still am going to need a guide after I get these two items so I will know what I have to do to complete the downgrade. Only thing I have seen related to a guide for the solderless prog was how to put it together. Also I have seen something called a PROGSKEET NAND PCB 16MB and a PROGSKEET NAND PCB 1GBIT 128MB, are these for dual booting purposes and what is the difference between the 16mb and 128 mb one, of course 128 is more but does it allow for more options in dual booting or does it make duaal booting faster or something? If someone can provide a link to a detailed video or a detailed guide that would help I assume this process is not to complicated as I have a non soldering prog. Please help A.S.A.P would like to get into getting this stuf done.

Ididn't understand want you meant by your last post it seems as though you are reffering to doing what I am asking with two drives I was asking could I install 3.55 on on drive and than when I want to play online take 3.55 off the drive and install 4.11, but it seems you are saying something about having 3.55 on one drive and 4.11 on the other, how would that work, meaning what would I have to do after I take the 3.55 drive out and put the 4.11 drive in does the console have to be reflashed or can I just insert the drive and what type of data are you saying you would have to transfer why would you have to transfer data from your 3.55 drive to 4.11. I'm trying to understand the cocept of just inserting the 4.11 drive when ready for online because I don't know will the drive have to have 4.11 reinstalled on or are you saying that once you have 3.55 on one drive and 4.11 on the other you won't have to install it back to the drive anymore just plug it in? But yeah I was talking about just one drive at first if I wanted to go back to 4.11 on that drive thats why I was asking would I have to wipe it or could I just upgrade it because was think if I upgrade it would tracing of the mod then get detected when online and if I did do it that way would I have to reflash the console, This is the last information I wll need I say that because I know you have spent much time dealing with me but I aprciate it.

No you wouldn't have to change the HDD because the ps3 firmware isn't stored on the HDD, its stored on the NAND. So you don't need to do anything with the HDD.

so when I install like multiman and certain mod software on my harddrive are you saying that wont cause a problem whn I update the firmware and also just curious what happens to the sved profiles and stuff on my drive when I downgrade and upgrade firmware does that stuff need to be saved or something or does the firmware upgrading and downgrading not affect the data on the drive?

No the miltiman and other stuff will still be on there but you wont be able to run it because you would be on a ofw not a cfw.

all of this leads up to my main point which is will any of the programs or files that I was using when I was on 3.55 be detected when I go back to 4.11 and get me banned from live thats why I was asking would I need to wipe the whole drive first or would I need a seperate drive, seems pointless to get another drive if I am not dual booting but instead upgrading and downgrading over and over unless the progams that are on the drive could be some form a a hazrd when I go back to 4.11

No Sony has never banned anyone and can't detect it. The only things you can get from are games, not the entire PSN network. You can get ban for modding anything from Black Ops and up from there. Though mods are not yet available for them, but I did mod Black Ops when they were online and I just got console, ip and accout ban from Black Ops. I can still play mw3 and everything else but Black Ops.

After getting all the tools needed and actually sitting down to flash console I see that I need something that is going to show detailed steps on flashing a slim nor console, if anyone knows a guide for nor flashing where the flash is done with 360 nor clip and has detail to the point where it explains what programs need to be installed on computer to downgrade ps3 and the steps in which to run them, and when to turn ps3 on and off etc. If anyone knows of a guide that has information in it like such please provide a link I don't even know how to properly connect the nor 360 clip, I have an adapter I dont even think I need it because the cable is to small for the nor clip I think the adapter might just be for nand since nor is newer thinking the made it so you don't have to have adapter for it and maybe you just need adapter for nand

Gave up ended up frying my system now I ordered a new board might be power supply. Anyhow there is just not enough documentation for progskeet downgrade so I'm selling the set on ebay and picking up a e3 wish I woulda purchased that first but I looked at a progskeet as cheaper but after I bought it and found out I had to purchase a bunch more stuff to go with it like the adapter and clip I ended up spending more money than a e3 cost anyway and since my system is fried I will spend even more money, but will get some back when I sell progskeet. For those interested in a progskeet seems there is nand documentaion for upgrading but I didn't see any nor I suggest people buy e3 unless they come out with a little more documentation for the progskeet.
