He gave it back to me with an even worse problem, the Red Screen of Death. Now, i just have a question. If i bought an e3 nor flasher, could i get my ps3 out of RSoD and/or Factory/Service Mode? Yeah you may be able to.

What I would do is, make a backup and validate that its good, leave a good dump on the micro card and put in the e3downgrade.bin with it. Start downgrade, after it finishes put it into fsm with the dongle and continue with the e3 process. You can do all that without the hdd hooked up until a certain point. Get the flasher before you give up on the ps3

do i absolutely need the esata station? it saves me a lot of money if i dont buy it. I have an adaptor that goes from my ps3 hdd to a usb. Will that fit on the e3 board?

Well, you're going to need something to connect your HDD back to your PS3 or you won't be able to downgrade.
