You're Goddamn Right
(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); Ive never replaced the ps3 internal HDD, just picked up a 1tb and wanting to switch it out.

  • Its a PS3 Slim 120gb
  • Im currently on 4.21 Rebug

I tried the HDD in and get this msg:
You must login or register to view this content. (but says 4.21)

So what steps should i take? I believe on slims, part of the FW is on the HDD if im correct. So its probably not the best idea to do this on 4.21.

k, thanks

That is the only way to do DT, day before a swapped my Rebug PS3's HDD again with a new 40gb HDD & on ps3 that screen came up for me & so i went on my laptop, > on USB stick renamed Rebug pup to PS3UPDAT.PUP & inserted in ps3 & ye it installed rebug 4.21 on FW to my blank HDD. perfectly no problems at all
So ye i'm sure you know but ye Rebug REX 4.21 pup in your USB UPDATE folder -> PS3/UPDATE/PS3UPDAT.PUP , safety eject USB ..insert USB PS3 & restart PS3 if doesn't detect & ye hold select & start & after it'll format HDD & then it'll copy/download most the FW from USB & after it'll ask to install the FW (btw and you can take out the usb once it's installing from HDD location, cos ye its copied to the HDD if i'm not mistaken) oh, also ye just in case if in take out ps3 game disk if in ps3

Also there is another way of installing FW without ps3 by exact HDD copying, but i think i only know/can do that, sorry
