(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); Hey guys! First of all, I did checked the stickied threads around here but none is answering my question(s). Im going to have my ps3 back from factory (refurbished system) and Im seriously thinking about putting CFW on it. Thanks in advance.

Whats the best CFW for running back ups?
Whats the necessary software to prevent console and account from getting banned?

They are right, Rebug CFW is the best, but I think before asking this question, you should ask if your PS3 is the right model and on the right OFW because you cannot install CFW on all PS3s. First of all, you have to be on OFW 3.55 and second you have to have a downgradable model if you have OFW higher than 3.55.

If everything goes like planed, in 10 days Ill have my PS3 back from repair (refurbished system). Its a Slim 320GB. CECH 25048. Dont know if this model suports CFW.

Oooooh you're on the extreme borderline of supporting CFW!

First of all, it can't be a CECH-25048, such a model number does not exist, it's probably a CECH-2504B. Some of those models support CFW and some others don't. If it's on OFW 3.55 or below, you're lucky. If it's not, you're gonna have to run minverchk to find out if it's downgradable to 3.55.

Basically, if the date code (sticker at the bottom) is 0D or below, it's downgradable. If it's 1A, it might be downgradable. If it's 1B or above, it's not downgradable.

Yes, after checking that site I came to that conclusion too. And yes, it might be a typo. By date code you mean the serial number?
